Ellen Degeneres Bows Out as Judge on ‘American Idol‘!!

Ellen DeGeneres has decided to bow out from her role as a judge on AMERICAN IDOL next season. DeGeneres served as a judge during the ninth season of IDOL, the No. 1 hit series on television.

“A couple months ago, I let FOX and the AMERICAN IDOL producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” said DeGeneres. “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on IDOL and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

“We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of IDOL,” said Peter Rice, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Networks Group. “We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show.”

“It was a joy to work with Ellen,” added Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “She brought an incredible spirit to IDOL and was a great new addition to the team. While we’re saddened by her decision, we are very appreciative that she gave us ample notice so that we could work through it together.”

“I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills,” said IDOL creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. “She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”

“We will miss Ellen, she has been the consummate professional throughout her time on the show, and she’ll always be part of the AMERICAN IDOL family,” added Cecile Frot-Coutaz, IDOL executive producer. (read more)

Justin Bieber Will Be a Troubled Teen — on CSI!!

Meet CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s latest guest star — Justin Bieber.

The hair-flipping, Canadian pop sensation will make his acting debut on the CBS hit, following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, who called her guest stint on the show “life-changing.”

The 16-year-old will play “a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother — a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation” with the crime scene investigators, the show’s producers said in a statement on the show’s Web site.

And the best part for Bieber fans? It’s just the beginning. Producers said the episode is the start of “an emotional story that will conclude later in the season.”

“This will be true event television,” executive producers Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker said. “We’re looking forward to Justin’s dramatic star turn, not only in the premiere, but in a continuing seasonal arc.”

Cancer-Free Michael C. Hall Back to Work on Dexter!!

After revealing earlier this year that he was battling cancer, Dexter star Michael C. Hall is healthy, whole and back in the role of Showtime's oddly noble serial killer – and grateful for the support he received from his cast and crew during the tough period.

"I count myself lucky on so many fronts – and certainly in regards to the Hodgkin's [lymphoma]," a fit-looking Hall, again sporting a full head of hair after his treatments, told PEOPLE this week at San Diego's Comic-Con International.

"It's a real gift to be able to go back to work," says Hall, 39. "One of the best things about it is that it emerged at a time when we were close to the end of shooting. I was able to treat it over the hiatus and it didn't interrupt our production schedule, which, obviously, would have its effect on me, but it would have its effect on our cast, our crew, people who count on this family to keep making the show."

"It was amazing to see the support," concurred Hall's wife – and Dexter costar – Jennifer Carpenter, "which he would offer back to any one of them at any second – and does. The cast and crew, we spend a remarkable amount of time together. We do know each other's business, and there's a lot of love kicking around that set."

"Everybody was worried about him and then happy that he's fine," added Dexter's new executive producer, Chip Johannessen, who noted that Hall "sets the tone of the whole set."

Costar James Remar, who plays a spectral vision of Hall's father, said that seeing Hall back at work "makes me the happiest man on the planet. I love him. I'm just thrilled and inspired."

'Scream 4' Photos!!

Erik Knudsen, Rory Culkin, Marielle Jaffe, and Hayden Panettiere come together for the latest photo to escape from the set of Scream 4. Fans of the series are already commenting on how this looks similar to another "fountain" scene that was shot for the first film. Another interesting pic surfaced which shows the lamp posts of Woodsboro decorated with Ghostface costumes - a prank put on by the kids of the town?

The next chapter in the series opens on April 15, 2011 and is currently shooting in Michigan with Wes Craven at the helm.

Jennifer Love Hewitt keeps it classy in Lifetime movie 'The Client List'!!

A typical day on the set of Jennifer Love Hewitt's new Lifetime movie, "The Client List," had the actress in four different lingerie outfits, tying one man to a bed and covering another in whipped cream.

"It was such a weird existence," Hewitt tells the News. "I would send my mom pictures from the set and we would joke about it. I would say, 'Mom, are you proud?' and she would say, 'It's what I've always dreamt for you.'"

All kidding aside, Hewitt fully embraced the chance to play Samantha Horton, a former Texas homecoming queen and physical therapist who turns to a life of prostitution to help her family survive the recession.

"The Client List," premiering Monday at 9 on Lifetime, reveals Samantha's desperate situation. When both she and her husband lose their jobs and the bills keep stacking up, she accepts a position at a massage parlor, not knowing it's actually a front for a high-end prostitution business servicing a wealthy clientele. But instead of walking away, the money is too good for Samantha to turn down. (read more)

The Trailer for Ben Affleck's "The Town"!!

Warner Bros. Pictures has brought online the trailer for Ben Affleck-directed The Town, opening in theaters on September 17. The crime drama, co-written by Affleck, Peter Craig and Aaron Stockard, stars Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Pete Postlethwaite and Chris Cooper.

In the film, Doug MacRay (Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage--bank manager, Claire Keesey (Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name...and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug...not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

James Tupper Visits Seatle Grace!!

The traumatized female staffers at Seattle Grace are about to find the silver lining in last May’s deadly hostage standoff: The shoulder they’ll be crying on belongs to James Tupper.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the ex-Mercy doc (and Men In Trees hunk) is joining Grey’s Anatomy in the recurring role of Andrew Perkins, a trauma counselor brought in to help Seattle Grace recover from that nightmarish season-ending bloodbath.

Tupper is on board for at least two episodes.

Grey’s kicks off its seventh season on Sept. 23 with an episode titled, “With You I’m Born Again.” (source)

First Look @ Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern!!

From the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, here is your first look at Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern! Here's a clip from EW's article:

Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who becomes a ring-wearing intergalactic superhero in this massive sci-fi epic from director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). Though Reynolds has prior experience in the superhero realm from his role as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, playing Green Lantern involved some major challenges, like getting hurled through the air on a wire at up to 60 feet per second to create the illusion of flight. “The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds says. Still, he couldn’t resist the chance to play the beloved DC Comics hero, whose power ring can conjure virtually anything he can dream up. “Will and imagination are his superpowers,” Reynolds says. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.”

Green Lantern is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2011 and also stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Mark Strong, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, Angela Bassett, Jay O. Sanders and Jon Tenney.

'The Hills' Cast Addresses Mysterious Finale Scene!!

"The Hills" came to an end with much fanfare on Tuesday night (July 13). But while the big buzz centered on Lauren Conrad's return during the show's live aftershow, most fans were scratching their heads about the series' final scene.

In the last scene, Kristin Cavallari gets into a waiting car destined for the airport, where she told her "Hills" pals she'd board a flight to some unnamed country in Europe. We watched as Kristin closes the car door, leaving Brody Jenner behind, waving goodbye ... or so we thought.

But instead of pulling away, the camera pans out to show the entire production, including crewmembers and cameramen. So, were the "Hills" producers commenting on the veracity of the events devoted fans watched unfold over six seasons?

"The thing is, as you saw on the end - what's real and what's fake, you don't know," Jenner explained during the live aftershow broadcast. "Our relationship, the entire time could have been fake," he said. "That's one of the questions: what was real and what was fake, and we left it [open]." (read more)
