She performs, she writes songs – she even models. Now, Rihanna has yet another job: movie star.The "Rude Boy" singer is taking her talent to the big screen in Universal's Battleship, which is based on the classic Hasbro combat-style board game, reports Variety.
She'll make her film debut alongside True Blood vamp Alexander Skarsgard and Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch.
The blockbuster is set to hit theaters in May 2012.

Big budget movies should not be used as an acting class for singers. Isn't there one somewhat known ethnic out-of-work actress who could have been brought in instead of a singer with little acting background? Or is this another movie where the script and acting don't matter, where it's all about big budget effects and explosions? The preview looks like a mashup of Transformers and Battle for LA. Even the sound effects appear to be recycled.
