< Toy Story 3 > Reviewed!!

To be honest, I was really looking forward to seeing Disney•Pixar's Toy Story 3. I enjoyed the first 2 a lot and there was definitely still lots that could happen, so needless to say I was on board. A few years back there were photos released of a potential storyline involving a recall of all Buzz Lightyear toys. This would have taken the gang to Taiwan to save Buzz. I'm much happier with their decision to keep them all close to home.

It was really nice to see Woody, Buzz, Mr. and Mrs. Potato-Head, Jessie and the rest of Andy's toys in Disney Digital 3-D. The animation was amazing and once the movie started it was so easy to get back into the Toy Story world. This time around Andy is leaving for college which is a day they all saw coming. Lots of decisions need to be made and while Andy is grown up, it's been 11 years since Toy Story 2, he still finds it hard to part ways with the friends he's had for so long.

The plot in TS3 is both easy to follow, for the kids and lots of fun, for the adults. There are moments that will make you laugh out loud and moments of intense emotion all without a signature Disney song. One of the funniest scenes in the film involves a new take on TS2's song "You've Got a Friend In Me" but that is all I will say about that...lol. Also, one of the most intense yet beautiful moments involves some of the main characters accepting an unavoidable truth and my emotional reaction was one I didn't expect as this, after all, is an animated film, right?! Many new characters were introduced including Lotso, Big Baby, Dolly, Buttercup and of course Barbie's other half, Ken. The new additions added many new levels to the already wonderful world of Toy Story.

Overall, this was a fantastic end to Disney•Pixar's franchise that began in 1995. Filled with old characters we have grown to love and a cast of new characters I'm sure we'd all like to see again, I know I do. The constant message throughout the entire movie is about friendship, love and family, how can you go wrong with that kind of message. Toy Story 3 will undoubtedly be one of the biggest movies of 2010 and will most likely be Disney•Pixar's highest grossing film in North America and maybe even Worldwide!! - nd.2010 -
