The New Logo for The Smurfs Movie!!
Columbia Pictures is presenting newly-named The Smurfs Movie at Licensing International Expo 2009 next week in Las Vegas and here is your first look at the logo from the film. The big screen adaptation, written by David Stem and David Weiss, is scheduled for a December 17, 2010 release.

Meet the Next Superhero: Chris Hemsworth!!
Marvel Studios recently announced that 25-year-old Chris Hemsworth will play the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor in director Kenneth Branagh's upcoming comic book adaptation Thor, set to be released in 2011. The blue-eyed actor definitely has all the looks to play the hunky god of thunder, but here's where you know him from and other things you should know about this Australian heartthrob. 1. The Final Destination Teaser Poster!!
Check out the teaser poster for New Line's The Final Destination, the fourth film in the franchise coming to theaters on August 28. Directed by David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2), the horror film stars Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Krista Allen, Mykelti Williamson, Haley Webb, Nick Zano, Andrew Fiscella and Richard T. Jones.
Here's how the studio describes the movie: On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. Lauren Conrad Opens Up About Leaving The Hills!!
When you watch that awkward make-up talk she has with former BFF Heidi Montag, you’re only seeing half the story, The Hills star Lauren Conrad says. In fact, producers of the show kept pushing her to meet up with her frenemy throughout the fifth season — Conrad’s last.
“What they didn’t get is that I didn’t want to fight with her anymore,” Conrad says in the July issue of Cosmopolitan. “It’s hard to look at somebody who used to be your best friend and say, ‘We can’t be friends. Too much has happened.’ I’m trying to move on, but they won’t let me. And when someone keeps pushing you into the same position well … you get upset.”
Now 23-year-old, Conrad says she’s ready to move on from having her life played out in front of the cameras, especially since she’s now sharing that suddenly no-frills life with actor Kyle Howard.
“I feel sexiest with him when I’m in sweatpants and no make-up,” she says.
And in case you’re afraid she might miss the attention, think again.

Adam Lambert says role models come in a variety of different forms – even in eye makeup, fingernail polish and tight pants. "It's a really, really cool thing," the American Idol runner-up says, "to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it."
So to those who speculate about his sexuality, he has a message. "Calm down," he says, and "keep speculating."
Lambert, 27, who finished second to Kris Allen in the show that ended May 20, says his comfort in himself can serve as an example. "It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that on to kids and young adults who don't have a role model like that," he says. "It feels great because I never had a role model like that."
"Conforming is not cool," he adds. "Embracing who you are and what makes you different is actually what's really cool . . . The kids that are different and out there and expressive and are bold with those choices, those are the people that grow up to be people we all want to hang out with, that become celebrities or become really successful in what they do because they believe in who they are."
As for all the talk about his personal life, Lambert says just one word when asked if he'll address his sexuality directly, say in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone: "Maybe."

John Lithgow Joins Dexter in Season Four!!
Academy Award-nominated and Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe award-winner John Lithgow will take on one of his most intense and intriguing roles to date portraying Miami's latest serial killer in Showtime's top-rated drama series "Dexter." Lithgow will be featured in all 12 episodes of season four which are scheduled to premiere Sunday, September 27th on Showtime.Lithgow will play Walter Simmons, an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America's most prolific and deadliest serial killers. Dubbed the "Trinity Killer" because of his proclivity to kill in three's, he relocates to Miami after being tracked by F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine). Brought on to assist in the investigation of Miami's latest serial killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) becomes fascinated with "Trinity's" unique killing methods and his ability to evade capture for almost three decades.

Kara DioGuardi Shows Off Hot Bikini Body At Idol Finale!!
Kara DioGuardi, American Idol’s newest judge, proved she’s more than just a talking head Wednesday, when she bared her bikini body — and her singing voice — on stage at the American Idol finale in Los Angeles. After the show honored the notorious “Bikini Girl,” Katrina Darrell, with an award for having the best attitude, DioGuardi appeared on stage to perform with the former contestant.
The pair sang a few verses of Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love,” a song Darrell auditioned with and DioGuardi critiqued, before DioGuardi ripped open her little black dress to reveal a bikini body to rival her duet partner. Watch the clip.
Darrell auditioned for Idol’s season 8 in a bikini and DioGuardi famously criticized her voice and demonstrated the right way to sing the song. Thanks to Simon Cowell, however, Darrell got a golden ticket to Hollywood, but was eliminated in the second round.
At the time, Darrell told PEOPLE she was at a disadvantage because DioGuardi “had it out for me from the beginning … Maybe there was a little jealousy.”

Kris Allen Crowned Season 8's 'American Idol'!!
Kris Allen was crowned the "American Idol" Season 8 champ tonight, after nearly 100 million votes declared the 23-year-old Conway, Arkansas native the winner over runner-up Adam Lambert. During the two hour-plus season finale, contestants were paired with veteran recording artists for duets. Allen broke out the guitar with Keith Urban to perform the country singer's "Kiss a Girl;" third runner-up Danny Gokey and Lionel Richie did a medley of "Hello," "Just Go," and "All Night Long;" Cyndi Lauper teamed up with fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta on "Time After Time;" and Lambert joined the glam rock band KISS for a pyro-heavy take on "Detroit Rock City" and "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Nite."
All thirteen contestants provided the vocals for Carlos Santana on "Black Magic Woman" and "Smooth," and Lambert and Allen performed "We Are the Champions" with the big surprise guest of the night, Queen. (read more)

Crawford Replaces Efron in Footloose Remake!!
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that "Gossip Girl" actor Chace Crawford will star in Paramount Pictures' Footloose remake. He replaces "High School Musical" star Zac Efron in the role that propelled Kevin Bacon to stardom 25 years ago.Paramount had set a June 18, 2010 release date for the film, but it looks like that will be pushed back as filming doesn't start until March.
Kenny Ortega, who helmed the three "High School Musical" films, will direct the movie.
Kris Allen & Adam Lambert Talk Idol Finale and More!!
Having already made it so far, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, American Idol’s very talented top two, are facing Tuesday’s finale less as a competition — and more as a chance for both to shine. “I don’t feel too much pressure right now,” Allen, 23, told reporters outside the Nokia Theatre Monday. “We’ve made it. I feel like we’ve accomplished exactly what we wanted to accomplish, and we’re going to go out there and have a good show. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
While Lambert, a theater veteran from San Diego, and Allen, a subdued guitar strummer from Conway, Ark., are certainly (in personality and appearance) very different in many ways, both agree that they’re the same in one.
“We both have a passion,” Allen said. “We want to do this, we’ve wanted to do this for a long time.”
Lambert agreed: “We’re just very different types of artists, and at this point, it’s not about out singing each other. It’s not like a direct competition. It’s about both of us staying really true to what we do.” (more)
Carrie Underwood & David Cook to Perform for Idol Finale!!
It’s almost over!After months of performances and eliminations, American Idol is winding down this week with its finale — a performance night on Tuesday and the announcement of the winner on Wednesday — and the show is going out with a bang!
Joining finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert on the Idol stage this week, are a roster of music’s biggest stars, according to Ryan Seacrest’s Web site, including Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, the reigning American Idol David Cook and season 4 winner Carrie Underwood.
You can expect to see the rest of the top 10 — Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Matt Giraud, Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, Megan Joy and Michael Sarver — as well; they’ve been back in Hollywood rehearsing for the big show.

The new poster for Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: New Moon is now online. Opening November 20th, the film again stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Chris Weitz is directing the sequel from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.
