To listen to the album, follow this link: Jewel - Stronger Woman
Jewel, 34, says country is genre that has always appealed to her. "I'm not a pop star," the singer tells PEOPLE. "I'm an old school singer/songwriter/troubadour. That's me, that's who I am.”
Jewel, who wrote 10 of the 11 songs on her new disc, Perfectly Clear, tells PEOPLE that the title cut was written when she was 18.
"Stronger Woman," her first single off the album (co-produced by John Rich of Big & Rich) is already a country hit, currently at No. 15 on the Billboard country chart.
"She's great," Cook tells Extra. "So far, I've had a really good time with her."
Cook hasn't been shy about his interest in Caldwell. He even asked her out on the TV Guide Network.
"I'm just excited because I finally get to talk to you," he told her during an interview Wednesday night on the Idol Tonight show. "I've been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, So I'm actually going to ask you to dinner right now."
Caldwell accepted, with a hug, telling the camera after Cook left, "I just got asked out on a date."
And while he's interested in her romantically, Cook admits he's not entirely familiar with Caldwell's music. "I knew who she was, but I can't remember a song that she sang," he told Extra. "I'm probably in the dog house now."
"The best part about making the movie was being back with the women on the set all day every day, and the best part about tonight is being here ... with the fans," Sarah Jessica Parker said as the crowds squealed and waved around her.
Parker wore a glamorous Nina Ricci gown, complemented with dazzling Fred Leighton jewels, as did Kristin Davis, who donned Donna Karan and 19th Century diamonds. Cynthia Nixon chose a Narciso Rodriguez dress, and Kim Cattrall embodied her inner "Samantha" in a low-cut, beaded Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress.
The set up might have been equally bedazzled in crystals, but it was the stars shining through the rain that got the most attention. The first person to walk the carpet was Matthew Broderick, who was glowing with pride and support for his wife, Parker. Other supportive partners included Nixon's girlfriend, who wore a gorgeous linen suit and smiled ear-to-ear. (read more)
"While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," they wrote on Wentz's site, friendsorenemies.com. "This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."
After getting married in L.A. on May 17, the couple honeymooned in Turks and Caicos.
The bride, who has changed her name to Ashlee Wentz but will go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz professionally, told PEOPLE after the wedding, "I would love to have a big family one day."
Added her new husband: "A big soccer team or a band!"

"He was incredibly intense in his performance, but incredibly mellow and laid-back. Certainly there was this great anarchistic streak to it – just getting dirtier than anybody's envisioned the Joker before," Bale, 34, tells Details magazine.
Ledger died on Jan. 22 of a prescription-drug overdose at the age of 28. And Bale laments that the film "was something I wanted to share with him – and expected to do so."
"And I can't do anything else but hope that it will be an absolutely appropriate celebration of his work," he says. In earlier interviews, Bale commended Ledger on doing "one hell of a job."
Bale adds that he almost never donned the Batsuit at all because of a deep-seated fear in closed spaces.
"[I was] just thinking, 'This isn't going to work. I'm claustrophobic, I can't breathe, I'm getting a headache already, and this is all going to go very badly,'" he says.
But once he overcame his claustrophobia, the actor says, he went on to cheerfully perform much more dangerous feats.
"I was standing on the corner of the Sears Tower, on the outside, 110 stories up. I felt quite oblivious to it ... not fully aware that the blades were actually just feet from my head," he says.
The talk show host – who plans to wed girlfriend Portia de Rossi and has talked nuptials with recent guests John McCain and Jenna (Bush) Hager – was back to bride-talk with Will Smith.
On Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres noted that Will and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have been married for 10 years, unheard of in Hollywood. "It's like dog years when you're married here," she said. "That's like 50 years, right?
"What I found is divorce just can't be an option," the actor explained. "It's really that simple. And I think that's the problem with L.A. – there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for [Jada] and I is that we just removed the other options."
The secret to their success? "We're like listen, we're going to be together one way or the other so we might as well try to be happy," he said.
DeGeneres also suggested that Smith consider politics for his next project – and join Barack Obama as his running mate.
"I do think about [running for office] sometimes," Smith admitted. "Right up until that Monday after the movie opens and I have a 100-percent approval rating. No politician is ever going to have that!"

In Las Vegas Friday for his 22nd birthday with sidekick Derek Hough, Ballas was obviously very content with the results of the show, mainly for his partner Kristi Yamaguchi.
“I was just there to guide her along this fantastic journey and what an adventure it’s been,” he told PEOPLE at The Bank nightclub. “She definitely deserved to win.”
“Athletes are always good because they know how to be disciplined and they know how to listen,” he said. “I spent more time breaking bad habits and starting from scratch. We were working eight to 10 hours a day on that and I couldn’t be more proud.”
Hough, Ballas’s longtime friend, said Mark “110 percent deserved to win it. He worked harder than anyone.”
The duo, both celebrating birthdays (Hough turned 23 on May 17), showed off some of their winning moves from their VIP table, dancing to songs by Jay-Z and Bon Jovi.
Hough danced close with his DWTS partner Shannon Elizabeth. And thought the two haven’t acknowledged a relationship, they were spotted sneaking a few kisses at a dinner earlier in the night at Bellagio’s Fix.The night was highlighted as Ballas and Hough were presented with a three-tiered birthday cake complete with a large shimmering disco ball replicating the trophy on the ABC show

Spears, in a black dress and sun-kissed blonde hair, told PEOPLE she's doing "good" at designer pal Christian Audigier's 50th birthday party at L.A.'s Petersen Automotive Museum.
Spears, 26, hung with two girlfriends in a roped-off VIP area at Audigier's blowout gala. Fergie, Snoop Dogg, Pamela Anderson and – surprise! – Michael Jackson also made appearances.
Jamie Spears joined his daughter, sitting on a couch about five feet away with his head resting on his hands.
Spears stayed about an hour and a half, smoking cigarettes on an outside patio, nodding her head to a live performance from Macy Gray, and abstaining from alcohol. When she left for the evening, her father joined her.
"I am friends with Britney," Audigier told PEOPLE before the party. "She was at my office, I believe, three weeks ago. She got some presents for Jamie-Lynn and herself too. She got a ton of T-shirts, a ton of caps. She loved it."
Spears left the party before Jackson, clad in a shiny blue shirt, came onstage to wish Audigier happy birthday.
Jamie Spears' full-time job is now working for his daughter as conservator of her estate, court papers show.
The pop star returned home from a Costa Rican vacation at Mel Gibson's house earlier this week.

“I was like, 'Any song – I don't care if it's a song that I don't like – I want to do it because Maroon 5 is dope,' " Rihanna told GMTV's Carla Romano in a recent interview.
The feeling is mutual, assured Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, who collaborated with the sexy Barbados-born singer for the group's next single, "If I Never See Your Face Again."
"She's obviously beautiful and talented and amazing, and I just thought, 'Hey, there's really no better choice. ' "
Levine and his bandmates found the chemistry on set nearly overwhelming.
"I always find it hard to concentrate, so she doesn't make it any easier!" he said.
Rihanna also felt the vibes, she said. Asked to describe Levine in one word, she replied: "Hot!"

The 25-year-old bartender from Blue Springs, Mo., became the seventh American Idol Wednesday in front of more than 7,000 screaming fans at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre.
“I started this season — much to Simon’s chagrin — as the word nerd and I’m absolutely at a loss for words,” Cook told the crowd after hearing the news. (His love of vocabulary was highlighted in one of his earliest moments on the show.) “Thank you guys. This is amazing. Thank you.”

Based on Terry Goodkind's book, part of the epic fantasy series "The Sword of Truth," production begins on 22 episodes this month in New Zealand.
Horner will star as woodsman Richard Cypher, who transforms into a magical leader and joins with a mysterious woman named Kahlan (Regan) to stop a bloodthirsty, sinister tyrant.
Raimi and Robert Tapert will executive produce. The series premieres this Fall.
To all of us that watched "Queer as Folk" we know this is pretty much a role that is completely opposite to what we are used to. That's all, like I said I don't want to give much away but I had to write something in honor of our favorite bad boy gone domestic!!
